• The BSL consists of nine members of the church plus the
  senior pastor as their spiritual leader
• Each member serves a three year term

• A nomination committee prepares a slate of candidates
• Qualified BSL candidates must be members of Faith Community
  and have demonstrated a commitment to the church by their
  prayers, presence, gifts and service
• Each candidate must be ratified by 85% of present voting
  church membership at the Annual Charge Conference

Small group support is also a favorite aspect.  I especially like the way people from so many perspectives can find a place to live and grow in Christ.

Member of FCUMC:  Since 1984 Family: Wife- Sue (retired after many years as a Clinic Aide in Lakota Schools), and three daughters – Kirsten Hall (a middle school teacher living in Amelia, Ohio and married to Drew Hall with three sons), Kara Jones (living in Delaware, OH and attending seminary at The Methodist Theological Seminary in Ohio) and Leah Swanger (a professional musician living in Manville, NJ and married to Eric Swanger) Current Career:  Retired after a 34 year career in Research and Development at Procter & Gamble Hobbies:  Carpentry and home handiwork   Volunteer Experience: •  Mission trips to Mississippi and Iowa •  Habitat for Humanity •  Stepping Forward •  Mulitple committees and serving roles in the church including Lay Leader, SPRC, Trustees, and Finance committes, was Chair of Admin Council in final year as we transitioned to BSL and then chaired BSL •  Northern Lights Emmaus Community   Favorite things about Faith Community: the wonderful people, terrific worship with relevant messages and great opportunities to serve God’s people inside and outside the physical church on Cox Road
