Faith Community has developed a comprehensive program to
introduce our third graders to the Bible and provide
opportunities for them to become familiar with God’s word.
Each Sunday, they are encouraged to bring their Bibles
with them to delve deeper and see how it guides them in
their daily lives. In 2009/2010, we added a family retreat
and a lock-in to our Third Grade Bible Program, to help keep
our third graders excited about their new Bibles.

Third Grade Bible Presentation

Sunday, October 7, 2012
12:15 – 1:30 pm

Our Third Graders receive their Bibles in a special presentation after worship. Families will meet in the Narthex area outside the Sanctuary for some light snacks and fellowship time. We will then have the presentation in the Sanctuary followed by family communion.

Third Grade Family Retreat

Saturday, November 17, 2012
5:00-8:00 pm

Families will share a potluck meal and then have family
activities and stations in Bible discovery in the CLC. The
goals of the evening are three-fold: to keep our third
graders excited about their Bibles, to have families
prioritize time to learn about God’s Word and to give the
families resources to use at home.   

According to one of the parents who participated, “This
retreat provided us a great opportunity to reconnect
with each other and our church family in a more
personal way.  Our kids really enjoyed the fun activities
geared towards using their Bibles and incorporating
prayer into their daily lives.”

Third Grade Lock-In

Friday-Saturday, January 25-26, 2013
7 pm – 7 am

This will be a fun time of discovery through games,
food, small group time, food, learning stations,
and food to see God’s Word come alive for your
third grader.
