Summer Lunch Program
During the summer months, Faith Community serves lunches to children who receive free and reduced lunches during the school year. We will be serving children at Lakota Lake Apartments where we already have relationships with the families.
Check back in late spring for more information and volunteer schedules for packing lunches at Faith Community and serving on-site at Lakota Lake.
Whiz Kids Tutoring
Whiz Kids is a nationally acclaimed tutoring and mentoring
program that partners churches and elementary schools
to create potent one-on-one relationships between caring
adults and educationally at risk children. To be successful
in school and in life, children must learn to read well in
elementary school.
Servant volunteers from Faith Community tutor and mentor
children at Hopewell Elementary School after school on
Thursdays. Tutors meet with the student for one hour
once a week to help with improvement of their reading
skills.

Knitting & Quilting Groups
Our Knitting and Quilting groups meet weekly to make
special hand-made items to be given to area families in
need.

Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)
|
We open our doors each year to provide temporary housing for families who are going through transitional homelessness. IHN allows families to stay together during this difficult time. While with us, we provide rooms for our guests, meals and interaction from our congregational hosts that demonstrate God's love & hope.
Date for the next IHN week:
April 28 - May 5
|
Each of the nights, we are in need of:
- Small groups or families to provide dinner for 20
- Two Meal Hosts each night to visit with families during dinner (5:30-7:00 pm)
- Three to four Activity Hosts to spend time with the families from 6:30 – 9:00 pm
- Two people to stay overnight each night from 8:30 pm – 8:00 am (in a separate room) and then wake up the families early in the morning
Our commitment to this vital ministry allows families to stay together during
this difficult time. This is a great family outreach opportunity. To serve,
please contact Jon Bertram at Jon.Bertram@hds.com.
Diaper Ministry
Each month we count, assemble and label bags of diapers &
wipes to hand out to families through Living Water Ministries
and through our own Faith Food Pantry.
Hamilton House for Homeless Families
A generous donor has given Faith a house in Hamilton for us to use for Transitional Living. Faith Community members and friends have donated furniture, lamps, bedding, towels, and other items to help turn the house into a home.
In spring of 2013, our first family moved into the home. They will remain in our Transitional Housing Program for up to 90 days during which time they will meet with Faith’s Director of Missions weekly to work on employment and housing goals.
This is a Lakota family referred to Faith by a Lakota school liaison. The family has been homeless for a month after being evicted from their apartment of 13 years. Both parents lost their jobs in May of last year. Please pray for this family that they may find employment quickly and get resettled into a permanent home.
