All-Church Outreach Day (Sat., April 21) A•F•T•SG
Faith Community will be hosting an Outreach Day on Saturday, April 21. Join us as we help to clean up at Keehner Park and demonstrate the love of Christ in the community. There will be jobs for children, youth and adults from cleaning the walking paths to picking up debris. All skill levels are needed so that we can help prepare this great park for our community. We will also have a team that will help make decorations for our community VBS. No creative skills needed. Summer Lunch/Literacy Program A•F•T•SG
This multi-church effort serves lunch to children in the Lakota schools who normally receive free or reduced lunches during the school year. Faith Community’s Summer Lunch Program will serve children at the Lakota Lake Apartments in West Chester. Our program runs 10 weeks from May 30 – August 4. In conjunction with the lunch program, Faith Community also offers a Summer Literacy Program which runs from June 20-July 25. School Supplies for Low-Income Children A•F•T•SG
Every summer, Faith Community collects to provide low-income children in the Lakota School District with needed school supplies. This year we will working with the Butler County Success program to provide supplies for children at the Hopewell schools. Faith members can choose to purchase and donates supplies for different age categories, so there is a range of different price levels, to suit everyone’s budget. More information will be available in late August regarding donations for the 2017-2018 school year.
Hispanic Ministry (Spanish speakers) A•T
Faith provides needed services to the local Hispanic community. We provide weekly ESL classes at Stepping Forward in addition to translation services at Faith’s Food pantry and local parent/teacher conferences. If you are bi-lingual in English and Spanish, please consider serving as a translator. For more information, contact Tara at tara.yunker@emailfcumc.net.
Habitat for Humanity A•T•SG
Our church has individuals and teams that regularly partner with Habitat for Humanity to help build homes for low-income families. If you are interested in serving on a build site for Habitat for Humanity, or would like further information, please contact Tara at tara.yunker@emailfcumc.net.
Kairos A (men)
This international, ecumenical prison ministry is devoted to changing the lives of incarcerated individuals and by so doing, creating a positive change within the institutions in which they live. To serve at Kairos requires specific training.
