Worship Environment Team
Faith Community’s Worship Environment Team welcomes our guests by creating an atmosphere of grace, warmth and hospitality. If you are interested in any of the Worship Environment opportunities listed below, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Greeters at Faith welcome guests at our entry doors 25 minutes before Sunday worship. Gifts for serving include a warm smile, welcoming personality, and a friendly handshake to greet others. Greeters serve once every four to six weeks.
Welcome Center Hosts
Welcome Center Hosts staff the Welcome Center to answer questions and provide information for our worshipping guests. Hosts are available for 25 minutes before and 10 minutes after Sunday morning worship, and serve once every four to six weeks.
Ushers help guests and members feel “at home” before, during, and after worship services. Responsibilities include passing out bulletins, welcoming people, answering any questions, maintaining current knowledge of safety procedures, directing people during communion, and collecting materials associated with the usher ministry that may have been left behind. more >
Communion Stewards prepare the elements for serving communion during the worship services on the first Sunday of each month, Maundy Thursday, and Christmas Eve. Responsibilities include cubing the bread, setting up communion elements on the altar, replenishing between services, and cleaning up and disposing of leftover elements. Communion Stewards also take care of the Communion linens and serving ware.
Communion Servers serve communion elements to the worshipers. Communion Coordinators schedule servers for both the Traditional and Contemporary services. Eight servers are needed in each worship venue each time Communion is served.
The Chair Team helps transform our Christian Living Center into a space where people can meet God in a special way. On Sunday mornings, team members arrive by 7 am to set up chairs for worship. At the end of the 11:00 am service (around 12 noon) another crew stacks and puts the chairs away. Other Sunday morning responsibilities include placing tables as needed, placing the altar and candles on communion Sundays, replenishing offering envelopes and pens, and placing the baptismal font as needed. more >
During the Advent season, we have special opportunities for individuals, small groups and families to help decorate the church, give Advent readings during worship, and tear down and put away decorations after Christmas. An online sign up form will be available starting in November.
