This special Sunday remembers Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem and marks the beginning of Holy Week. Children will gather and process through each worship venue waving palms. The message from our “Road Trip” sermon series will focus on the Road to Jerusalem.

In the Upper Room there is a window; and through this window we are able to gain a glimpse of the Last Supper Jesus shared with His disciples. In this room, Jesus and His followers gathered to celebrate the Feast of Passover … and during this time, the Holy Spirit filled the room with His presence.  As we reflect on this meal, where do we see ourselves seated at the table?  Holy Communion will be served.

Holy Week typically focuses on the events of Jesus – entering Jerusalem, the Upper Room, the betrayal, the agony on the cross, and the resurrection. We’ve heard the stories told by Jesus and his closest followers. But what about the “ordinary people,” the ones who cheered his entry and yet turned their backs later in the week? Experience these events through the eyes of a Mother searching for her son and through the people she meets along the way. What would you have done? How would you have behaved? Is there treachery in your heart still today? Childcare provided for ages 3 and younger.

The Road to Emmaus highlights one of the great contrasts that were so much a part of the resurrection experience … the agony of defeat and the thrill of victory.  On the Road to Emmaus, the two followers of Jesus were still reeling from the fateful Friday when their beloved Jesus had died tragically.  However, on their journey to Emmaus, the two followers experienced triumph as they realized that Jesus was alive!  The Resurrection is without a doubt the greatest day for all of humanity.  We now have hope and know the gift of peace.  Alleluia! He is Risen!  Holy Communion will be served.  Childcare provided for ages 3 and younger.
