How long does the service last?
Our Sunday morning worship typically lasts about one hour, so the 9:30 services finish at 10:30 and the 11:00 services finish at 12:00 noon.
When should I arrive for a service?
You will want to arrive a few minutes early to feel prepared to worship. If you’d like a cup of coffee or tea, plan some time to visit the coffee bar. If you have children, plan to come about 15 minutes before the service to get the kids settled in Sunday School.
What should I wear?
Come dressed comfortably. Some people wear jeans and t-shirts. Others wear dresses and suits. We are more concerned that you come as you are rather than if you look your “Sunday Best.”
Where should I go once I come inside?
After you’re greeted at the main entrance, you’ll find our Contemporary Worship venue (Christian Living Center) off the right side of the main lobby. For our Traditional Worship venue (Sanctuary), take the first hallway on your left off the main lobby and the Sanctuary will be on your left. If you are unsure where to go, stop by our Information Center and someone will help you. Please note our facility is ADA accessible.
Do I have to give money when I visit?
You are never obligated to give. If you are new to Faith Community, please enjoy the music and let the basket pass unless you would like to give. We hope that as people get involved with our church, they are led to be generous in regularly giving. Click on our give page to learn about the different ways you can give.
What about my kids?
On Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:00 am, we offer nursery/toddler rooms as well as classrooms for children ages Pre-K – 6th grade. All rooms are staffed with carefully screened and trained volunteers.
What about my teenagers?
We encourage our student (7th-12th grade) to attend our weekly Youth service from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM in the Youth Room. It’s a time of worship, study of scriptures, and some fun! For more information contact Director of Youth Ministries, Kelechi (KC) Kanu at cont.worship@faithcommunityumc.org.
Can I take communion during worship even if I'm not Methodist?
Yes! United Methodists practice open communion, which means that all who want to partake in communion are welcome.
Can I attend Faith Community without being a member?
Absolutely! But if you are interested in becoming a member to feel fully connected, have the ability to serve in all areas, and vote at church meetings, contact info@faithcommunityumc.org.
