A Pathway to Membership

We are so glad you are interested in membership at Faith Community! We know that getting connected to a new church can be difficult. What is this church about? How do I find my place? Our Connection Pathway is designed with that in mind. Here are some simple steps you can take to answer those questions and get connected at Faith Community.

Our Connection Pathway consists of three components:

  1. Next Connect
  2. Faith Connection Classes
  3. Get Connected Membership Class and Dinner

Next Connect

We invite you to join us any third Sunday for Next Connect! This brief gathering helps folks learn more about what we believe and how you can connect to our ministries. Meet Pastor Andy in the coffee area (located in the lobby) right after the 9:30 service (around 10:40 am). If you have questions, please contact Pastor Andy at

Our goal in this brief gathering is to:

  1. Share Faith’s mission and vision
  2. Highlight our main forms of communication for you to engage in the life of the church
  3. Discuss ministry opportunities for you to grow in your relationship with God and others
  4. Answer any questions you may have about connecting to our Faith Community family.

Upcoming Next Connect Dates

  • April 21, 2024
  • May 19, 2024
  • June 16, 2024
  • July 21, 2024

Faith Connection Classes

Before attending the Membership Class and Dinner, we ask that you first attend all three of these classes. We offer them twice a year to accommodate busy schedules, and you can take them in any order. The classes are open to anyone (even members) who would like to learn more about the Bible, Methodism, or discerning his or her spiritual gifts … the more the merrier!

What is the Bible The Bible provides the foundation for the Church and for the life of each Christian. But the Bible can be confusing. Where did the Bible come from? How is it meant to be read and understood? Why are there so many different translations? This class will answer these questions and more as we seek to understand the meaning of the Bible together.

  • Sunday Evening (you only need to choose one):
  • April 28 OR August 25
  • Parlor at 5-6 pm
  • Led by Pastor Andy

What is Methodism - Faith Community is a congregation of The United Methodist Church, which is one denomination of a much larger Methodist movement going back almost 300 years. This class looks at the beginnings of Methodism, its development over the years, what distinguishes Methodism from other branches of Christianity, and what it means to be a United Methodist today.

  • Sunday Evening (you only need to choose one):
    • May 26 OR September 22
  • Parlor at 5-6 pm
  • Led by Pastor Andy

What are Spiritual Gifts -Within each Christian is a desire to serve God. God has prepared each of us to serve him in specific ways by blessing us with certain spiritual gifts. In this class you will learn about the different spiritual gifts and take an inventory to discover your own spiritual gifts. We will also explore how you can use your spiritual gifts at Faith Community in fulfilling and life-giving ways.

  • Sunday Evening: June 23, OR October 27
  • Prayer Room at 5-6 pm
  • Led by Pastor Andy

Get Connected - Membership Class and Dinner

Once you have completed all three Faith Connection Classes, you are invited to attend our Get Connected Membership Class and dinner. Becoming a member means that you want to invest in us and we want us to invest in you! Membership at Faith Community has many benefits if you make the commitment, including being a part of a caring community of believers, being able to vote at church meetings, and truly being connected to something bigger than yourself!

For United Methodists, membership requires our active participation in a local congregation. When we become members, we profess our faith in God, our desire to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, and commit to join with our church community to keep the vows made at baptism. The vows we make include promises to faithfully participate in the life and ministries of our local congregation through our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. We can't wait to have you join us!

Upcoming Membership Classes and Dinner

Our membership celebrations are held quarterly on Saturday evenings at 5:30 pm. Once you have completed all three of the Connection Pathway classes, Pastor Andy will send you a personal invitation. Upcoming dates include:

  • Saturday, April 13
  • Saturday, July 27
  • Saturday, November 9
