Faith Community values the children, youth and families of our church, and we are committed to building a sustainable family ministry that is going to have a deep impact.
We have partnered with Ministry Architects to identify a candidate who will help steward a vision for family ministry working alongside the senior pastor to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
The Next Gen Pastor will champion the next generation of leaders at Faith Community UM Church and will cast vision for and implement organizational strategies in building Family Ministry. This leader of leaders will coordinate, create, and lead staff and volunteer teams who deliver engaging ministry from infants through high school, as well as families with children. As the leader of Family Ministry, the candidate will strive for strategic alignment among all programs and age groups of Family Ministry. He/she will define and protect a holistic discipleship strategy through intentionally designed transitions from one developmental stage to another. We prefer a candidate who has pastoral credentials or willing to obtain credentials upon hire, who has experience in family ministry, who professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who is committed to personal spiritual growth, who is passionate about growing family ministry, and who adheres to the historic creeds of the Christian faith. Our Children's Ministries
We want our children to become lifelong worshippers of Jesus! At Faith Community, children learn to know and show the love of Jesus through our Faith Kidz Sunday morning worship and other enrichment programs.
Sunday Morning
Children have 9:30 am Faith Kidz Sunday School available each week. Right now, they are enjoying a 13-week Prayer experience for kids, with small group classes for toddlers and preschool, K-3rd, and 4-6. Also, the nursery is staffed during the 9:30 am worship services.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a wonderful outreach event that we host every year at Faith Community. Hundreds of kids and dozens of volunteers come together for a fun week of songs, games, snacks and learning all about God's love.
Upward Basketball and Cheer
Faith Community also participates in the Upward Basketball and Cheer program. We have multiple boys and girls basketball teams, as well as several cheer squads.
Faith Community Preschool
The goal of our Preschool to provide a positive first school experience for children using play-based learning and developmentally appropriate practice. We have classes for children ages 2-5 years old. Our program enhances self-esteem and encourages independence within a Christian curriculum.
Our Youth Ministries
Our Youth Group meets most Sunday evenings where our Youth Director Jeff Ackenback shares a message with the kids. Then during the second hour, Youth enjoy small group discussions plus other activities (games, etc.).
Faith's Youth also have their own praise band (GRAVITY) that practices most Sundays after Youth Group and leads worship occasionally on Sunday mornings.
Our Outreach Ministries
Every Tuesday evening, Faith Community hosts a dinner that is open to anyone in the community. In addition to dinner, the evening features live Christian music on our stage during dinner. Afterwards, there are activities for children, youth and families such as themed crafts, games, etc.
